Anniston 15 Month Update

HOW is my baby girl fifteen months old? I feel like we were just celebrating her first birthday and now three months have flown by! I have truly loved every single stage of her little life, but I cannot lie, the last three months have been SO fun! She has grown up on me all of a sudden and although she will ALWAYS be my baby, she is a full on toddler now!

Over the last three months she had the flu (on her birthday no less!), two annoying colds, and one crazy virus the whole family got. I am truly hoping and praying that these illnesses are behind us as the weather warms up because it is so hard watching her be sick! This last virus was a doozy and she was absolutely pitiful. We have been so blessed with her joyful demeanor that seeing her so upset is heartbreaking! BUT on the upside, I got even more of her sweet snuggles so I can't complain about that!

The cuddly friend pictured is her "Teddy" (yes, we're very creative with names over here) and this little guy goes with us just about everywhere! I finally let her start sleeping with him the last month and she is in heaven and it is just about the sweetest thing ever. It's actually a funny story on how this lovey became her favorite (especially when I was trying to push a few different ones on her). I bought Teddy the week before we had Anniston for the sole reason to sit on a shelf above her crib and hide the baby camera from sight. Well APPARENTLY if you sleep in a crib for a year staring at the same teddy bear, you become slightly enamored with him! Teddy is now her best buddy and there is no separating these two!

Girlfriend is growing up a storm and weighs about 19 1/2 lbs! She has gone through a major growth spurt the last few weeks so I need this random cold weather to go away because I am refusing to buy her new cold weather clothes. She loves ALL fruits and we can sometimes sneak in some veggies. She would live off of grilled cheese if we let her, but will sometimes let us switch it up with some Mac and cheese or chicken noodle soup. Other than that, the girl is pretty picky and hopefully one day she'll try new things again. ;)

We are officially done breastfeeding as of this past weekend and it is such a bitter sweet feeling! She dropped her night feeding at 13.5 months and we just dropped her morning feeding a couple days after turning 15 months. Miles and I will be out of town for a conference next week so I wanted her to be completely okay without me and knew it was time because she only nurses for a couple minutes at this point anyways. I absolutely loved my breastfeeding journey with her and will miss those intimate times together, but it is also nice to know I can be gone without having to pump or prepare a bottle! Anniston has been drinking whole milk from a sippy cup since she was a year old and now has it at every feeding! She's a champ!

Her biggest milestone over the last three months would have to be that she is FINALLY walking! She took her first steps at 14.5 weeks and now is a full on walker! She is done crawling completely and I can hardly believe it! I thought she would be a semi early walker because she was pushing everything in sight to walk around at 9.5 months, but girlfriend would not take her hands off until she was ready! And get this, I'm a stay at home mom that has been encouraging her to walk for MONTHS and she takes her first steps with DAD. Ha! I was so excited I couldn't be upset, but I still couldn't believe the one time I was out of the house she did it! But she's now walking everywhere and I'm just trying to keep up!

She's my best buddy and my number one pal. I love listening to her babble and all the new words she is learning. I love watching her little brain work and seeing the way she understands directions I give her. I adore her giggle and when she gets so tickled over something. I could watch her walk to her daddy and give him hugs all day long. I know she'll have to stop sucking her thumb at some point, but I hope it is no time soon because it melts me! Watching her grow is a dream come true and I will never get over the blessing that she is to us.

15 months. Whew! Time slow down!
