29 THINGS ABOUT ME

IMG_1435-2.jpg

Happy Monday, friends! Yesterday I turned the big 29! I get that 29 is not that big of birthday, but it is my last year in my twenties so it has me only slightly freaking out. :) I thought it would be fun to share 29 things about me that you might not know! After reading back through the list I'm pretty sure I sound a little crazy and nerdy, but THAT'S OK! This is me in all of my weirdness! Enjoy!

  1. I was born without a toenail for the toe next to my big toe on my left foot. My parents did a great job convincing me I was unique so I wouldn’t be insecure. It wasn’t until high school I started to realize it was a little weird. Ha!

  2. I prefer chicken fingers and french fries over fancy food any and everyday of the week.

  3. I switch my Chick-fil-A order almost every time I’m there. But one thing stays the same: half unsweet tea, half diet lemonade. ALWAYS.

  4. I owned over 300 Barbies and played with them until about 8th grade.

  5. My favorite color was purple growing up and at one point my walls, comforter, and EVERYTHING in my room was lavender. My parents are too kind, I will never allow that.

  6. My favorite colors now are probably gray and blush. So basic and boring.

  7. I was in third grade when I knew I wanted to be a teacher.

  8. I was in fifth grade when I decided I wanted to teach and then be a stay at home mom. I think was on to something.

  9. I struggled from awful nightmares as a kid and I still do. At 18 I would still crawl in bed with my dad when I was scared and I now wake up Miles every time they’re really bad. That is part of why Miles and I fall asleep to FRIENDS every night, I can't handle any horror or suspense before bed!

  10. My mom swears to everyone I was potty trained at 9 months. I was the only one that believed her until I had my own 9 month old. Now I think she must be confused!

  11. My first job was at Zaxbys as a sophomore in HS. It lasted maybe a month before I couldn’t handle being around the food.

  12. My second job was as a Barista my senior year. I have always been very sensitive to smells and I threw up on my first day of work because the coffee smells got to me.

  13. I have never liked nor do I understand concerts. They give me a headache and make me claustrophobic!

  14. I am an absolute introvert through and through. People tell me I’m not an introvert when I’m fun at a gathering. You just don’t understand how much quiet time I need before and after that gathering to make that possible. :)

  15. My family nicknamed me “Coco Bobby” as a toddler. I still don’t understand why, but it completely stuck. I’m now either Coco, Bobby, or the occasional full on, Coco Bobby. Very rarely do I get a “Courtney!”

  16. My middle name was “Nicole”. When I got married I dropped Nicole and made my maiden name, Lazenby, my middle name. I had no problem with Nicole, but EVERYONE called us Lazenby kids “Lazenby” throughout our youth. (By the way, that’s Laze-in-bee... you should hear all the variations I got though)

  17. I LOVE water with lemon. I am truly sad when the waiter continues to forget to bring the lemons I asked for.

  18. I have a slight (read: MAJOR) obsession with Harry Potter. I have read the entire series too many times and it just never gets old.

  19. I am VERY defensive and protective when it comes to my family. In high school I almost got kicked out of a MIDDLE SCHOOL hockey game because someone was picking on my brother. Literally the cops were called. I’m working on it.

  20. I met Miles when I was a junior in high school and we were truly just friends for a couple of years. I thought he was a tad too cocky when I met him. :) We started dating the summer after I graduated high school.

  21. My dad got me a Red Jeep Wrangler when I was 17. It was my DREAM car. Miles thought that made me so cool and always searched parking lots for it to see if I would be somewhere.

  22. Miles got me a new Jeep Wrangler when I was 24. I would still be driving it if it was practical for babies. I just love them.

  23. We knew Anniston’s name six years before she ever existed. A friend mentioned she liked the name my senior year of college and I knew in that instant it was my daughter’s name.

  24. I started blogging less than a year ago, but truly feel called to share my heart to all even if it only helps the one.

  25. I became a Christian when I was in first grade, but I didn’t truly understand what it meant to follow Jesus until I was a junior in high school.

  26. I have felt the Lord audibly speak to me two times. The first time was when He told me we were moving to Auburn. He told me in January of 2014 and we moved in August.

  27. The second time I heard the Lord so clearly was when He told us to open the door earlier than we expected for a second child. We were pregnant a month later.

  28. My dad passed away when I was 26 and it was the hardest thing I have ever gone through. I have also seen the Lord move more than ever in my life and my family’s life since that day. He is ALWAYS good.

  29. It is my greatest honor to serve our church by supporting my husband as a Pastor’s Wife. Somedays it is the hardest thing I do, but most days it is extremely rewarding!

Man, that was a lot! If you made it to the end, I salute you! I hope you got to know me a little better! Share something crazy about yourself so I don't feel too out there! Ha! Have a great week!
